Labyrinth Canyon is a short, narrow canyon south of Padre and Gunsight bays. River runners named the canyon because of its many twisting corridors. Campsites are best closer to the mouth where there are expansive views north across Padre Bay and south to Tower Butte. At high lake levels, the end of the lake lies in a narrow slot, beyond which a narrow defile continues. This is one of those places particularly susceptible to flash floods.
